Open Question: will lime hurt hardwood floors?we moved in to a house the ppl before us were gross they let the dogs pee every were the floors are hardwood and unfinished i want to put carpet down but i'm afraid the smell will come up in to the carpet a friend said to put lime down before the carpet will the lime hurt the floor Open Question: What Nailer should I buy?Need a nailer to do trim work around the house like, baseboard, door and window trim, maybe some crown molding and chair rails. What gun would work best for these projects? 3 Choices: 15 Gauge Angle nailer that goes from 1.25" - 2.5" nails 16 Gauge Straight nailer that goes from .75" - 2.5" nails 18 Guage Brad nailer that goes 5/8" - 2" nails Open Question: How can I beautify a fence that is right outside my kitchen window?My neighbors are building a 6 foot wooden fence 3 feet in front of my kitchen window. It used to be a shorter chain link fence with a vine all over it. I'm upset that my view will be this huge fence taking up more than half of my window. Any ideas to make it look better? Are there baskets for flowers that could hold onto the fence on my side or fast growing vines that grow in the shade? I live in Seattle. Open Question: Do you know of a vinyl flooring (brand or type) that looks classy?These are my reasons for choosing vinyl: 1. I like my floors squeaky clean so I wash them with hot water and liquid detergent. 2. I prefer the softness and less cold feeling of vinyl compared to stone or marble floors. 3. I like continuos flooring, no crevices or porous material (like found in stone or grout). I would like to a semi gloss finish where the pattern is a set of 12 inch blocks set diagonally. But anything you think is nice.
