Open Question: What kind of bulb do I need for my Alien lamp?

I have a Xemu Xeno Alien lamp (http://xenomundi.com/artwork/158733_The_Xemu_Xeno_Lamp.html), and have had i for many years. Recently, the bulb burned out. I thought getting a new bulb would be easy, but it turns out that it's exceedingly difficult. The inside of the lamp says I need a "25w or smaller, 120v r40 type bulb". The bulb isn't very big; a little over 2" long. However, every r40 bulb I come across is way more than 25w, and way bigger than 2"; at least 5.9"-7". I tried contacting the company that makes the lamp, but I don't think I'll be hearing back from them. No hardware store around where I live or even on the interent seems to have what I need. Is there another type of bulb I need to be looking into, or what? There are so many bulbs out there with such minor differences, I don't know which kind would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
