The agreement is, whatever I paint must be painted back white upon moving. Will it be really hard to paint over extremely bright colors? Will I have to use a paint stripper? Is there some sort of coating that I could put up and paint over that I could easily take down in a few years, but that would still look nice in the mean time? Any useful advice is welcome. Thanks! Open Question: How much does a good king sized bed and mattress cost? Also any suggestions on where you can get the best deal. I live in Iowa. Open Question: Need ideas on how to make a small, old attic apt. appear bigger and not so old. Its in a 100 yr old farm house? My son is getting his first place and had asked me to help him decorate (he knows it's my passion). The kitchen is soooo small, brick up to the chair-rail and currently white above that with white trim. There is a good sized pantry, about 24 inches of counter space and nice cabinets. While white tends to make a room look bigger, it also makes this old kitchen look old. The living room is somewhat small, has old sheet paneling and a drop ceiling. The only thing really nice in there is the 2 big windows that overlook the farm. The bedroom is is cute, also white with 2 windows that overlook the river. Then there is a large entry hall, nearly as big as the kitchen, a small bathroom and a enclosed back porch. Our job is to re-vamp this place to make it a home. We can do anything we want to it (its family owned). What would you do with the walls that would make the space look fresh and new? Would you keep them white or use color (remember, they are small rooms)? The paneling has to stay (too much work to remove it) but it can be painted if you think that would work. Use the windows as a focal point since they add the most visually to the rooms. Open Question: Where do I find quality solid wood furniture?I found a site online that says their tables are made of solid Ash...is that a quality wood for furniture? I'm used to seeing Oak, Maple and others, but I wasn't sure about Ash? I assume it's at least better than Asian Hardwood? More Recent Articles
