Open Question: What kind of paint would I use to finish a guitar?Currently I'm building a Flying V, I'm looking to finish it something like this guitar in the middle. http://sharemyguitar.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/800px-Gibson_FlyingV.jpg What kind of paint should I get to finish/paint my guitar? Open Question: Can someone help me with curtain measurements and selection?I know nothing about decorating so am looking for some help. My master bedroom has a 73 inch width window that needs curtains. What size should I get? Also how big should the curtain rod be? Where is a good place to buy online? I would also like the curtains to provide darkening for the room and am open to having an inner set. Also..the room is gold beige color with a blue accent wall (curtains go there). The floor is carmelized bamboo and furniture is dark wood. Any color ideas..please help.. Open Question: i roto tilled my area has full sunlight lookin for something colorful cheap and hearty?don't really care what it is should be cheap will plant seeds... now you go ahead and amaze me you people here are smart ! Open Question: is a one brick wall extension, illegal?we were sold a property with a one brick wall extension, which is a bedroom, we now have lots of mould and damp, we were told the property was insulated, which we now find out is bull, as we dont have a wall cavity atall, which makes the property impossible to be, or have been insulated what so ever. Open Question: will a 4x8 sheet of insulation work for sound?Open Question: Need opinions on decorating our new house "artsy" or antique? My husband and I just bought a brick Victorian that is over a hundred years old. It has been slightly butchered, as the former owners painted the brick on the outside white, made the once functional fireplace "decorative" and painted the original woodwork and built-ins white. We are going to fix all of that. But when I look at houses on our street, which is in a historic district, a lot of the people decorate their homes with things that look like or come from the period these homes were built it (wallpaper, antique chests, old photographs). While I want to restore the house itself to what is must have originally looked like (pull up carpet off the hardwoods and all of the other repairs I listed), my preferred style of decorating has always been that I like painting rooms brilliant, beautiful colors. I don't like a lot of color, our furniture is fairly simple, but it obviously more modern looking. And a lot of our artwork is stained glass or bright oils. My husband and I have very similar taste and we have always gotten compliments on the apartments we live in and how they are decorated. So the question is, do you think in buying an older home you have to decorate with older antiques and that is the correct way to do it, or can our furniture and art be more modern and more like what we favor, including paint colors on the walls, even if we bring back the original hardwoods and fireplace and woodwork? FIY, there are no covenants from the historical association that says we have to do anything to our home or can't do anything. This is all a matter of choice on our part. Open Question: Does a feature wall in a bedroom have to be behind the bed?I am thinking of moving to a different bedroom in the house which is alot more square than my current room so I'm thinking of doing a feature wall. Only problem is, that the biggest wall which is the one you see when you walk into the room, is the only one I can wall mount my TV (which I will need to do in this room) Therefore my bed will have to be on the oposite wall which is interupted by the door which is also set back from the rest of the room. If you can imagine, the wall goes from one corner straight along to in line with the edge of the doorway, but the doorway is set back by a few feet. In an ideasl world, I would have my bed against the big wall and have the feature wall on that one, but the oposite wall isn't strong enough to put the TV on.
